Blog Post of the Day:
Below is a letter written to the editor who wrote the article 'Enforcement of dress code creates negative effect' that your blogged about last week. Most of you wrote on your blog that you agreed with the writer. What are your thoughts after reading the letter below and seeing a different perspective. Are they the same? Are the different? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.
My perspective is still the same, for reason being there might be a "time and a place" for certain things but that doesn't really mean much. There is a time and place for wearing jeans, like fall and winter or spring, but if I want to I can still wear them in summer. I could even wear shorts in the middle of 2ft of snow if I wanted and you're saying if its not the time and place for it then I cant wear it? We are High School students and we shouldn't be forced into to being so "professional" right now we still have awhile to go. We should not be force to do anything, if you have a problem with it than that sounds like a you problem and I don't want to hear it if it inter fears with my opinion, unless I ask for your opinion like you are asking for mine currently. If it is a choice I have made even if it is a little "riskay" its a choice I made, doesn't mean I'm asking for anything (unless verbally stated other wise) it means I feel comfortable in it, and gives me confidence in some way. If I am wearing something that you don't approve of IT IS STILL A CHOICE I MADE. If I do not ask you if I should change then don't tell me if I should. I am comfortable when people look at me and think "wow that's a cute outfit" I am not asking for you to over sexualize what I chose to wear because if you are over sexualizing what I am wearing you are creating me as a victim, and you are the perpetrator, victims should never be made to look like the bad person.
